About

Winter Nawa (they/she) is a community organizer, rope performer, and educator. She was staff at the Morpheus Bondage Extravaganza (MBE), an annual international rope performance event based in Toronto that features worldwide satellite locations. As part of MBE she performed internationally and co-produced the Philippines' stage.They started the Manila Rope group in the Philippines, helped set up the North Bay Rope lab in California, and co-hosts the Mac Monthly Munch in Oregon. These endeavors included organizing munches, creating curriculums and lesson plans, and teaching in group settings.

Lineage

Winter Nawa began studying rope in 2013. She was first taught by Nuit deTokyo a Yukimura Ryu instructor. She formally studied suspension at the Sydney Rope Dojo and has studied with other grandmasters since this time. Her tuition is with Yukimura Ryu (by way of Nuit deTokyo), Akechi-Kanna Ryu (directly with Nawashi Kanna), Milla Reika (student of Saki Kamijoo), and some Kazami Ryu (directly with Kazami Ranki).Her style is connection and sacred rope, some aerial arts, and #ropeisforEVERYbody.

Community

2023 - Present Mac Monthly Munch
A monthly meet and greet for the local alt lifestyle community. Located in McMinville, it serves the community between Portland,OR and Salem,OR. Due to our Littles and Pagan community overlap, we have attendees as far as Washington state to Corvallis & Eugene. RSVP via FetLife.
2015-2020 - North Bay Rope Lab (former Rope Bite North Bay)
A monthly peer learning rope event.
Winter Nawa helped Tamayo start a monthly peer learning event. It was adopted and renamed by the T-corns in Santa Rosa, CA.
2013-2020 - Manila Rope
Home of Hitchin' Bitches and Peer Rope Philippines. Winter Nawa stepped down in 2017 and it was adopted by t0ni in Manila, Philippines. It has not resumed since covid.
2012-2016 Phil Fet
The first educational kink group in the Philippines. Winter established a board and organized a weekly munch and monthly workshop and playparties.Get in touch!
